SCHOOL HISTORY

In 1915, the land measuring to around 11,377 square meters, where Parañaque Elementary School Central is located was granted a land title through the Transfer Certificate of Title No. 4671. However, it was only in 1916 that Parañaque Elementary School was constructed. This construction was made possible through the effort of Kapitan Andres Buenaventura during his reign as Presidente Municipal or Municipal Mayor of Parañaque from 1916 – 1922. Paranaque Elementary School Central was the first public school in San Dionisio, Parañaque City during that time and the only school that offered complete elementary program.

As early as 1900 during the American time, the town of Parañaque had around a handful of teachers who handled and taught 50-300 pupils. Then, the passage of the Gabaldon Act of 1907 paved the way for the construction of school buildings. It was in 1911 that Parañaque Elementary School had its Gabaldon type building.

The school was once part of the Division of Rizal Province, it was then headed by Mrs. Norma Abracia. It was during her time when Paranaque Elementary School became Paranaque Elementary School Central.

An increase in population of the pupils enrolling in PESC created the need for the construction of additional buildings. In 1998, DPWH and SOF building were built. In 2004, the Bagong Lipunan building got burned but was later replaced by a three-storey building funded by the National Government. Now, there are 6 buildings in PESC – the Rodriguez, EDZA, SOF, Science building, Olivarez and Twin Building. The school has a multi-purpose hall/gymnasium where outdoor activities and classes are being held. It is also in this hall where the stage is located.

PESC is lucky to be one of the recipients of 24 computers by the Department of Education under their Computerization Program (Batch 31) in September 2017.  At present there are three computer rooms that are being set-up in the Science building.  These computers were donated by the City Government of Parañaque.

Parañaque Elementary School Central has been performing well both in curricular and extra-curricular activities through the management and leadership of the exceptionally skilled school heads together with the performing teachers.

Dr. Rosendo C. Abulog took the leadership of Parañaque Elementary School Central on September 2019 with the transfer of Dr. Antonio B. Dorado to F. Serrano Elementary School, Parañaque City, in the same year.

With the strong leadership of the School Principal, Dr. Rosendo C. Abulog, along with the passionate and committed teaching and non-teaching staff, Parañaque Elementary School Central despite Covid 19 pandemic was able to deliver quality services to its clients and has continued the delivery of instruction using varied learning modalities suited to the learners.

Dr. Virginia V. Ramos had an opportunity to serve Paranaque Elementary School Central from August 2021 to September 2022. Her leadership skills and style led in the accomplishment and achievement of the previous school head’s plans, programs and projects for the betterment of the school.

With the dynamic leadership of the newly installed and current School Principal, Myla R. Velasquez, along with the unwavering support of the dedicated and committed teaching and non-teaching staff, Paranaque Elementary School Central continually soars high and brings pride to the Division of Parañaque City.  PESC SHiNES (Soaring High in Nailing Excellence Service)
